Each project increasingly marking its identity in their homes. RV studio´s approach doesnt only succumb to interior design, but has a strong connection with art. In client's home, developing stands in art fairs and complementing gallery exhibitions with furniture that adds an unusual complement to the exhibition.
The purpose of providing the clients living in their home the way they imagined, but even better, and the daily experience with art that opens new paths in the society where they live.
The definition of art is vast and widely debated. Art is generally defined as the creative expression and imagination expressed through painting, drawing, photography, or sculpture. It is through art that we perceive beauty, emotion, or conceptual ideas in a visual format.
Design is a project to create an object or process. Design is about developing and creating solutions for people, systems or physical products.
Design is intrinsic to every element of every person's daily life. It can be seen in all industries, such as product design, graphic design, fashion design, advertising design, interior design, etc.
We observe that throughout history, art has influenced design, and sometimes design has influenced art. A clearly example is modern and contemporary art, where art is linked to design trends. Pop art is a good example of the strong influence of design on art. Andy Warhol is one of the best examples where product design became art. Several of his works became an icon of pop culture by transferring a commodity considered a mass product to a status of a work of art.
I consider that design is the compromise between function and aesthetics/beauty and art is the pure expression of beauty and emotional impact (the artist expresses his own vision, ideas and feelings) without being bound by its functionality. However art uses creativity combined with the effectiveness of technique to translate beauty, emotional power and conceptual ideas.
Although I consider that there are a number of differences between art and design, both share the same fundamental visual and creative principles, such as form, philosophy, movement, colour, proportion, brightness, among others.
When Gaudí wrote that "art is beauty" and that "beauty is the splendour of truth, without which there is no art", I would daring to add that design, when created for a useful purpose, also becomes the splendour of truth.
