It comes from a traditional art school and not from an object design school.
That is why today, his approach to object design is close to sculpture. It is the creation that fascinates him, the objects created become unclassifiable curiosities, works that take their place in a somewhat authoritarian way in your interior! Objects that need air around them, like a canvas that breathes better on its own on a large white wall.
The objects of daniel Guillotin do not respond to trends, they are just proposals, invitations ...
Design is an art for me, between object and sculpture.
I like single pieces or limited series, objects that, while remaining simple, create a feeling of novelty and curiosity.
I like the relationship with the craftsman with whom I work on projects.
It is also a human story for each creation.
Today, thousands of objects come out every day, they are beautiful and useful for the most part but they are everywhere.
My approach is rather to create curiosities.
