FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
MHG: i am PHD in architecture technologies in La Sapienza University in Rome. I come from a architects family and my destiny was that from the beginning

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
MHG: We founded uc21 architects studio in Rome in 2008 and after we opened a studio in Tehran too. we do architecture, iterior design, planning and design

FS: What is "design" for you?
MHG: do what you want, inspired by yourself and the things around you. always be essensial and minimal

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
MHG: villas and residential buildings

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
MHG: is one of my last project named cantilever house and is in building status now. This villa is particular because have 3 cantilever boxes who make it absolutly fantastic

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
MHG: a bathroom for my friend

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
MHG: concreete

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
MHG: in the last project

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
MHG: a consider any aspect, more possible

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
MHG: realizing myself

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
MHG: i m very happy and proud of myself

FS: What makes a design successful?
MHG: is not only one things

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
MHG: is not only one aspect, are few

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
MHG: the designer can give really a different way

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
MHG: it evolving in different way, it depend from the contest

FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
MHG: last year and the next will be soon

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
MHG: i inspire myself from the contest

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
MHG: minimal

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
MHG: i live in rome and tehran and of course i m influenced from 2 ancient culture

FS: How do you work with companies?
MHG: we search for a friendly approach

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
MHG: it depend from the project and the design that they prefer

FS: Can you talk a little about your design process?
MHG: everything start from the contest and the customer needs. After having this, we can proceede to make a study on it and make a concept. After that we can make a sketch and the hole project

FS: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?

FS: Can you describe a day in your life?
MHG: is variable. it depend

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
MHG: have a research on their project

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
MHG: be patient

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
MHG: comprehend the customer

FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
MHG: a pencil and a paper at first

FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
MHG: design is the most important thing for me. no timing

FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
MHG: depend from the project

FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
MHG: many question

FS: What was your most important job experience?
MHG: every one is important

FS: Who are some of your clients?
MHG: i cant list them for privacy

FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
MHG: minimal. because u design only essential

FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
MHG: no idea

FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
MHG: i have my team
