FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
AA: I started my studies in Computer Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology but changed my major to Industrial Design. After graduating from IUST I got my M.A. In Industrial Design from Islamic Azad University, and now I'm continuing my education at Putra University, Malaysia as a PhD student In Industrial Design.

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
AA: Iranian Industrial Designers Institute, IIDI, Is an institute working on Design and Innovation in Product and Interior design.

FS: What is "design" for you?
AA: For me Design is Nothing but Thinking, Innovation and Responsibility.

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
AA: My gratest concern as a designer is Designing the people's everyday life. I mean the things that may not be noticed at the first glance but their importance can be understood with a little attention.

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
AA: Dashboard of an IVECO minibus

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
AA: As many other designers, I prefer to start on paper, drawing some rough sketches to find the form and function that I'm looking for. After that I start to evolve the design by some detailed drawings and then it comes to computer. I Prefer to model my designs using rhino3D and render them on 3dsMax

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
AA: I believe usability and affordance are the most important aspects of a designed product but having a uniqe form and gestalt is also a requirement

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
AA: Resopnsibility

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
AA: Feeling useful and then feeling happy about it

FS: What makes a design successful?
AA: A design will be successful When it saves people from potential dangers or it rescues the culture of a society from disasters

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
AA: The most important aspect will be having positive influence on the culture and after that ease of use and beauty

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
AA: I believe that we, designers are one of the most responsible groups towards soceity since we can pervert the people's culture or elevate it by our designs. We are always connected to people, and make them Hopeful or desperate, joyful or depressed, healthy or sick, and all of these are somehow outcomes of our designs

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
AA: Design is also evolving like other professions and what is concerning about it is the presence of designers who are aware of needs of society

FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
AA: I have not had an exhibition before but I hope with my progress in such competitions I can have my own Design exhibition

AA: Most them come from a tender look to the everyday life's problems and needs
