| DESIGN NAME: Feast of Color PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Design INSPIRATION: In this project, there are five family members in the owner’s house, and four of them are female. The owner hoped the space could exhibit concurrently the tenderness of girls and the toughness of the patriarch of the family. As a result, The designer has chosen to place iron pieces and flower tiles intermingled in the space, displaying extraordinary visual aesthetics. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The screen uses iron pieces with vivid and lively patches of color to create fun in the simplicity. The designer set up two circuits, with different wattage and brightness, for the lighting at the living room’s ceiling. One of the circuits is connected with light bulbs that create the appearance of Big Dipper, which symbolizes auspiciousness and is also the designer’s blessing for the owner and his family. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: “A starry sky” is the concept for the living room ceiling, and it can also be switched to the “Big Dipper”. The use of characteristic ceramic on both sides of the coffee table echoes the TV countertop. The living room open bookcase does not use the wood grain as the backboard, but the blue wall, which reduces the visual pressure of the large cabinet. The hallway is decorated with wood to make the elevation complete and continuous, while making the visually hidden storeroom door and electrical box. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The colorful iron screen at the entrance exhibits understated but elegant visual aesthetics with its different hues under the sunlight. The other fine touch of design sits at the TV stand counter, where flower tiles are paved, adding layered visual effect with their distinctive design. The open kitchen uses iron pieces to support the logs table, replacing the traditional dining table, showing a steady feeling, and ingenious contrast with the colorful screen. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Project Area: 121 square meters TAGS: interior design, residential, living room RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The screen uses iron pieces with vivid and lively patches of color to create fun in the simplicity. The chair for wearing shoes is good at using the space and storage, bringing convenience to the porch. The open kitchen uses iron pieces to support the logs table, replacing the traditional dining table, showing a steady feeling, and ingenious contrast with the colorful screen. On the side of the dining table, the wall is painted by the blackboard oil paints, which becomes a fun message board and a small world for children's creation.
