PRIMARY FUNCTION: Oral Medicine Dispenser
INSPIRATION: -
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Classical syringes with needles are being used with needles removed in children's oral reception of liquid medication. Identified problem poses a threat in treatment of children and often leads to misconceptions to staff. Oral dispenser is developed as a user-friendly, hygienic and ergonomic solution to this problem. Using specialized spoon-shaped fittings, silicon anti-slip surfaces and an etiquette for patient information, design aims to improve use by regulating the dosing and dispensing of oral children medication.
Product improves the self-confidence of the nurses/operators. By contrast with the scary image of current syringes permitting vascular access, this colored and varied form yet the reassurance to the appliance prevents the anxiety possibly leading children into the aspiration of the medication during the practice. Beside its contribution to the precise dosing, the product assures to reduce the syrup loss to a minimum. In this manner, the product is also pioneering among its equivalents as it is waste reducing, since the metal-ends of the existing syringes are thrown away. Design also concerns about the hygiene and storage as its lid can be applied from both-ends resulting in a double-head opportunity.
