| DESIGN NAME: Tokotoko PRIMARY FUNCTION: Indoor Play Equipment INSPIRATION: The concept is "to give children the car of their dreams." How much fun would it be if children could freely drive their own cars? Plus, they thought it would be more fun if they could assemble it yourself. It's a toy for fun. Draw their favorite pictures on simple materials, put stickers on them, and run around their house as if it were a town. The name "Toko Toko" is a Japanese word that means to move lightly. They envisioned a playground equipment where they can have such a fun time. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is an indoor playground equipment in the shape of a car that can be assembled and played. The purpose of this play equipment is to allow children to move freely around the room and play, sit and watch TV, or read picture books. This toy can be played by two people. They can decorate their room like an interior by placing books, stuffed animals, etc. This toy will add a fun atmosphere to their child's room. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This toy can be played by one person or two people. They can sit on the chair and move around the room freely. This work can also be used as an interior decoration for toys. Additionally, this play equipment can be stored very compactly. Therefore, it is easy to carry. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project began in May 2023 in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. After trial production, it was completed in September 2023. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The shapes of the parts of this play equipment are connected. For example, the backrest and window frame have the same shape. Therefore, work efficiency during production is very high. Also, by fitting the parts together and storing it, it becomes very compact. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: w900mm*h700mm*d550mm Plywood 910mm*1820mm, urethane TAGS: Plywood, Cars, Toys, Indoor Play Equipment, Chairs, Assembled furniture RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The purpose of this play equipment is to make indoor play more fun.This is a toy that teaches children the joy of assembling things and playing freely.Since it is made of wood, it has a warm atmosphere.Plywood also works well in kids areas and children's rooms. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to compactly store this playground equipment. To achieve this, each part is designed to interlock with the others. By fitting them together, the storage space can be efficiently utilized, resulting in a highly compact configuration.
