Category change is possible before and after awarding, and it could be automated, manual or on request.

Before nomination, you can change the category manually for your project, and there are no fees or costs. To do so, simply edit your project by changing its settings from control panel.

Before awarding and evaluation of your design submission, after paying the nomination fees, you may request a manual category change. In this case the category change service is not free, and can take up to two days. This service is especially useful, for example if you believe that you have nominated your product or service to the wrong category. However is not required since jury members will often push your design to the best relevant category. 

Category change after awarding is also possible however there are several strict limitations and conditions. Automated category change after awarding occurs when your design is moved from generic or inclusive categories to niche categories. For example when we would move a project from “Idea” design category to the relevant category. There are no fees for this action, and the process is automated. Category change is possible after awarding if your design has been awarded in the concealed category 999. In this case, if you decide to go public with your design project, you may request a category change. The fee for this change is 75 euros, and shall be paid in order to ensure that the request comes from you. After category change from concealed category 999 to any other categories, the operation is irreversible; your design will become publicly visible and accessible.
